ASOTV – Bissell Steam Mop
With the Bissell Steam Mop, we can say that the traditional mop and bucket kit is now history. Like all steam mops, it doesn’t use any chemicals for cleaning. It’s functioning on steam generated by overheating water in a reservoir. One of the features that make the Bissell Steam Mop better than other similar cleaning tools is the swiveling head which allows cleaning even around the toilet seat and under low kitchen cabinets, where regular mops can’t reach. The mop is very efficient on surfaces such as ceramic tiles, marble, sealed hardwood and laminated engineered floors. For maximum efficiency, we found that preliminary sweeping or vacuuming of the floors helps a lot.
The Bissell Steam Mop doesn’t come with a carpet glider accessory like other steam mops, but this is not important for us, as we don’t have any carpets in our home. We prefer enjoying the beauty of our floors by not covering them with carpets that go invariably filthy after a while and need professional cleaning every couple of years or so. The Bissell Steam Mop is ready to shoot the steam through its nozzle in about 30 seconds from plugging it to the power supply and it can run for 15 minutes before the water in the tank completely evaporates and needs refilling. You’ll know when it’s ready to operate thanks to an indicator led which changes the color. Thanks to the hot steam power that kills allergens and germs, we can see the difference in the way we breathe: now it’s much better than it used to be, so we are pleased that we’ve purchased it. Asthma and allergy sufferers should really consider changing their way of cleaning the house from classic methods to steam cleaning. Besides, I never liked the idea that my cats step onto chemically cleaned floors, then licked their paws, thus regurgitating all that poison.
I used to feel guilty each time I was cleaning the floors and I always spent a lot of time in rinsing them very well. This steam mop made all that much easier for me. Although some of my friends say it doesn’t clean well in deep grout lines, I discovered that it actually does, if you allow it about 15-20 seconds to blow steam over the same spot before moving it further.
The Bissell Steam Mop uses tap water, but if your water is very hard or if you simply want to prolong its life, you can buy and use distilled water instead.
